The Dojo karate center
The dojo's martial system is known as Chikurin Te Budo (Hand of the Bamboo Grove), based upon a variety of parent ancestor arts spanning approximately 900 years. Delivered in an academic format, our program enables students to relate their curriculum to the experiences that they have in their public school system and other educational institutes. The curriculum is structured into grading semesters, providing regular reviews and feedback that support their study. While the classes are instructed in English, reference and credit to the parent nationalities and names of each method are synonymous to the education. During your study at The Dojo, you will be exposed to gateway skills and tools from larger martial disciplines. Each of our advanced black belt instructors has a different background and studies exclusively in one or several independent martial arts styles. During the inception of The Dojo in 2001, these masters contributed their area of expertise to each of the three facets of our academy: sport, self-defense, and traditional methods. In short, you'll learn the most effective tools from arts such as traditional Japanese and Okinawan karate, Chinese kung fu, Korean tang soo do, Filipino kali/silat, Muay Thai, Brazilian jiu jitsu, and much more! The program delivers an array of new and exciting skills while utilizing the common grounds of successful training. Whether your motives for training are recreational, fitness-driven, or for developing effective self-defense skills, The Dojo at Dunwoody will assist you in becoming your personal best!
Home to the most professional martial arts facility in North Georgia and located in Georgetown Shopping Center since 1999. The Dojo was rated in the top ten martial arts franchises in the U.S., and our Dunwoody location has been selected as "Best in Atlanta" by Sports and Fitness Magazine, "2016-8 Best of Dunwoody" by the Dunwoody Award Program, and "Best Martial Arts" by Asian World of Martial Arts. The dojo offers the most competitive tuition rates and the most knowledgeable staff, specializing in and independently training in developmental education with children and young adults. Our goals are to foster positive growth and physical fitness for our students while increasing self-esteem and developing successful leadership skills. All staff members are internally cultivated with a minimum of ten years of experience at our facility before becoming licensed teachers. Instructors have traveled abroad to such destinations as Japan, China, Mongolia, and Thailand to further understand the origins and cultures associated with genuine martial arts training. Our 4,000+ sq. ft. facility offers a variety of amenities, including three matted training areas, a comfortable lobby for families, spacious men's and women's changing facilities, nine training locations throughout North Georgia, and on-site surplus retail services.
